Open Day FAQs
What is the open day for?
We’re throwing the doors open so that people can come and see what Budock Vean is all about. It’s a perfect opportunity for people to come and see the bedrooms, function spaces, restaurant, gardens and all the activities. We welcome hundreds of people here each year but we know there will be people who have never ventured down the drive … this is your chance to come and have a taster of all the wonderful things that we have on offer.
Will everything be free?
There will be free fun tennis sessions, free golf tasters, croquet and table tennis. There are free garden tours, ELEMIS & Made for Life spa workshops, bedroom views and free swims for anyone booking a restaurant lunch with us on the day. Lunches, cream teas and afternoon teas will be available. Please book in with reception on 01326 250288.
Can I bring my dog?
Yes, you’re very welcome to bring your dog however there are a few places that we can’t allow dogs including the restaurant, on the bedroom tours and in the function areas. Everyone is still welcome to look at those spots, you might just need to do a bit of dog sitting between your group. Find out more about dogs at BV, here.
Do I need to pre-book?
It would be huge help for people to book in advance. It will help us make sure we’re ready for everyone. Booking for the 2-course restaurant lunch, and for the full afternoon tea is essential and we recommend booking if you would like lunch in the bars or conservatory, although we will, of course, look after you on the day if there is space. You can see our bar lunch menu here. On day we’re throwing in a free swim for everyone who has lunch with us in the restaurant, that’s a saving of £10 per person. Bookings for all events and activities are open. We will email everyone who has registered for the open day with a timetable of all the events, activities and meals (together with prices) with details of how to book.
How do I join as a member?
It is easy to join as a BV member. There are several different levels depending on what you’re interested in. You’ll find all the details, including the application form, here.
Is the parking free?

What can I try for free?
