Newness

It’s whiter than white

It’s clean, pure and clear,

The joy that unfolds

With a brand-new idea.

 

New friend in the playground

Who would break your fall,

New oversized blazer

For secondary school.

 

The new smile on your face

Cause you’ve found Mr Right,

New engagement ring shining,

So vivid and bright.

 

It’s your first job contract

Signed on the line,

The agents removing

Your house ‘For Sale’ sign.

 

It’s the promises made

Saturday afternoon,

And the souvenirs brought home

From your honeymoon.

 

It’s the smell of the carpets

You’ve just had replaced,

It’s the feel of your new baby’s

Breath in your face.

 

Those first wobbly steps

In new shiny shoes,

First tiny school jumper

You know they will lose.

 

It is helping your son

New important assignment,

New freedom that comes

With upcoming retirement.

 

Finally, there’s the newness

That we see with grief,

Where our souls are recalled

Giving others belief.

 

It’s whiter than white

It’s clean, pure and clear,

The joy that unfolds

With a brand-new idea.

 

So here at the hotel

It’s waiting for you

Our brand-new function room

A clear space with a view!

 

Celebrate your new start

Your newly made decision,

Engagement, maybe,

A wedding or baptism.

 

A warm atmosphere

For parties to unfold,

Mark the start of new chapters

Waiting to be told.

 

Newness.

We love it.

Like new crisp white lace,

So come and share with us

Our new open space.
