Murder Mystery has arrived at Budock Vean Hotel … and it’s a whole lot of fun!

Secret meetings, fallen idols and a Gatsby … just some of the themes of Budock Vean’s new murder mystery nights.

Starting this March, we’re launching into a series of Murder Mystery evenings that will have you interrogating, solving, watching and generally having a wonderful time. Together with your friends and you’ll be interrogating suspects, watching out for clues and discovering hidden secrets as tales unfold before your very eyes.

All being well you’ll solve the crimes before the time is up whilst at the same time enjoying a wonderful three-course evening meal here at Budock Vean.

You’ll be part of the action on the night as the stories unfold around you; perhaps you’ll be all set to solve the Murder on the Titanic (Friday 28^th March) or work out who has had enough of Jay Gatsby in Gatsby’s Gamble, a story set in 1929 (with us on Friday 30^th May). In July the task is to catch a jewel thief rather than a murderer as the world’s most valuable necklace goes walkabout in The 1940’s Diamond Heist!  You can dig out your flares (if you so choose) on Friday 3^rd October for the Million Pound Murder which is set in the 1970s and features blackmail and a few secrets being spilt in a novel which isn’t leaving everyone as happy as they might be! Finally, on Friday 7^th November it’s all about unknown strangers and secret meetings in The Secret Meeting…. Phew !

That’s a lot of mysteries waiting to be solved!

We’ve given these nights a test run and they are great fun, a wonderful mix of fun and drama – and totally immersive! As well as trying to solve the mystery you’ll be chatting with characters and working out what is going on all in the company of your friends, family and other guests who will also be in the thick of it.

You know you’ll be in good hands as far as your evening meal is concerned. Budock Vean Hotel has a fine reputation for creating seasonal menus all served with our Helford River hospitality and a smile! We can’t tell you exactly what will happen when you arrive, (that would spoil the fun!) but, basically, be prepared for anything … we can tell you that the stories unfold as the evening goes on – think starters with unexpected twists, mains with the odd clue and desserts with a plot point!
