News from Budock Vean
New for 2020
Fresh start and a lick of paint …
Well, a little more than a lick of paint! Three weeks into 2020 and we’ve been very busy bees here at Budock Vean. In scenes reminiscent of DIY SOS, Martin has been working with a small army of electricians, builders, decorators and designers to give our main restaurant a new look for the new decade. Work is progressing beautifully. We’re now in the latter stages of the project and getting excited for the grand reveal in mid-February.
We think you’ll like the facelift. The refurbishment captures the restaurant’s charm and scale and brings it beautifully in line with the other public areas. Think period wood panelling, fresh colour scheme, some stunning lighting … and a new welcome station for Mo.
Talking of Mo, she’s now one of our longest standing members of staff in the Budock Vean family. A friendly face for many a visitor over the years she is instrumental in making the restaurant, one of our busiest areas, tick with dedication to great service at the heart of everything she does. As well as putting in over 30 years of service she’s also gone one step further and pulled in the help of her own family! Over the years her son, niece and great-niece have been regulars in the bar and restaurant helping to ensure everyone has a great stay with us. Her commitment to training means we’re often complimented on our service levels. Thank you everyone for your comments we always pass your feedback to our teams.
“We love your hotel … the staff are also well trained – always working together as a team … very efficient but also very approachable and friendly” Guest, feedback, December 2019
It’s not just the restaurant that has had improvements this January. Our grounds team have been busy installing and setting up a brand new hot tub. This bigger tub overlooks the terrace and gardens with lounging space either side … bring on those beautiful lazy summer days! Our spa treatment rooms have been freshly painted and we’ve launched a new spa treatment menu building on our innovative collection of ‘Healing with the Seasons’ treatments.
Also new for 2020 we’ve launched our Budock Bridge Academy, a collection of bridge breaks throughout the year designed for people with different levels of experience and playing practice. There are practice breaks for intermediates and improvers and of course, we continue with our specialist breaks for experienced players with Bob Blackmore.
All this and more – watch this space … we hope you’ll find your reason to visit us this year.
