South West Tourism Awards
The team at Budock Vean Hotel are stacking up their reasons to celebrate when the time is right after winning ANOTHER award. On Thursday 22nd April the hotel, which sits on the Helford River in South Cornwall, won Silver in the ‘Large Hotel of the Year’ category at the South West Tourism Awards.
With stiff competition from across the whole South West region, from Cornwall up to Bristol, the win adds to the Silver the hotel was awarded in the same category at the Cornwall Tourism Awards earlier this year.
Martin Barlow, owner of the Budock Vean, said “I really can’t thank my team enough. All recognition we receive is a reflection of the effort, care and dedication the whole team puts into making BV tick. We’re delighted to win Silver in this tough category. This means a lot and what a brilliant boost before we open up again on 17th May. Our thanks go to everyone who made the awards possible this year in these tricky circumstances, and congratulations to all the finalists.”
Sponsored by South West Water, the awards were presented online on 22 April, with winners coming from Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire, Gloucestershire, Bristol, Bath, Devon and Cornwall.
Jo Ecroyd, Customer Service Director of headline sponsors South West Water said: “We’re delighted to be headline sponsors of this year’s South West Tourism Awards. As a top FTSE business in the South West, we see it as our responsibility to promote and contribute to the regional economy, in which tourism plays such an important role. It has certainly been a challenging year for businesses, and we applaud all our winners for their perseverance in the face of the challenges from the pandemic over the past year.”
Robin Barker, Director of Services for Tourism Ltd, who manage the Awards, commented: “I feel honoured to have been involved in the awards over the past year and the last decade. Of all the years, this has been the one that has generated the most challenges as well as the most emotions, and we are so gratified to have played our part in giving our outstanding businesses something to celebrate. They are all so deserving! We can’t wait to get out and visit as many of them as possible.”
Budock Vean is currently open for outdoor dining from 12 noon to 8pm daily alongside its Natural Health Spa, golf and exercise classes. The hotel opens fully on May 17th 2021
