The Great Autumn Skills Bonanza at BV
Gaining new skills and experiences on land and sea in an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty is the theme of autumn here at the Budock Vean Hotel.
We have devised a series of seasonal breaks and guided activities with our expert partners to make full use of our facilities, 65-acre river-side estate and surrounding coast and countryside – encompassing sports and activities, arts and wellbeing.
In early October, we have teamed up with Austen Osborne of Cornish Trails to host a break that will put a group of runners through their paces on the tracks, trails and coastal paths surrounding Budock Vean. This break will include guided runs on the North bank of the Helford, as well as the South accessed by a riverboat from our private foreshore – taking in flora, fauna and history along the way. Tailored to the needs of the group, our autumn Running Retreat will have the added option to take part in yoga, open water swimming, golf and sports massage.
Our autumn Watercolour Paining Break, with local artist Shari Hills, will guide a small group of guests in the techniques of water colour painting and, new for this year, our Beginners’ Bridge Break with popular teacher Jeremy Child is taking novices through the devilish skills of the game. Jeremy will focus his course on the play of the cards and include elements of the bidding process, with a series of teaching sessions followed by supervised practice.
When bodies and minds have been fully stretched for the day, guests will have full use of our hotel’s facilities including our James Braid designed golf course, tennis courts, swimming pool and hot tub-with-a-view – as well as our multi-award-winning restaurant and Natural Health Spa.
On Saturday 14th October we will also be joined by local gin expert, Catherine Murden, to bring guests an evening that pairs the best of spirit with the finest local ingredients in a seven course taster menu Gin Dinner.
