Tony Grace Memorial Golf Trophy
Tuesday 10th August saw the first Tony Grace Memorial Trophy take place at Budock Vean Golf Club, in memory of the club’s President, who sadly passed away last year. As a reflection of Tony’s popularity at Budock Vean, there was a fantastic turn out of 32 senior players, on a day with perfect weather, who competed to win a new trophy in his memory.
The opportunity was taken to invite Julie Parker, the CEO of Penhaligon’s Friends, to not only present the new trophy, which was won by Geoff Mills, but also to receive a cheque for £2,032.00 raised on the Seniors Captain Charity Day. The Charity Day produced amazing support for Penhaligon’s Friends, a Cornish Charity based in Redruth. They provide bereavement support for children in the county, and their 8 staff and 80 volunteers provide help for the 800+ children referred to them each year for support after losing a loved one.
The Tony Grace Memorial Trophy will now become an annual event in the Seniors calendar at Budock Vean.
