Wonderful weekend
This family run hotel ticks all the boxes. Relaxed, friendly and comfortable in the best way. Personal and very much NOT a corporate chain. The food is exceptional and the location unbeatable. I would highly recommend planning a visit. I can’t wait to go again!

Exceptional hotel
Another stay at this exceptional hotel whose excellent staff, food, gardens and foreshore make every visit such a delight. I can thoroughly recommend the Budock Vean Hotel. There's so much to see and do.

Rarely will you find a hotel as good
This hotel is a hidden gem. In over 40 years of experiencing hotels we have not found one with so much attention to detail and good service. We went for a gin tasting and taster menu which was phenomenal.

Beautiful Hotel
I stayed at this beautiful hotel with my mother for her birthday, we had a lovely room which overlooked the lovely grounds and part of the golf course. The food was outstanding and staff were so friendly, we will definitely revisit soon. Thank you, Budock Vean.

Relaxing
Absolutely Beautiful
Nostalgic return to this little piece of Cornish paradise
Excellent hotel
We have stayed at this hotel several times over several years and the service is always excellent which is why we keep returning. Our signature room was lovely, large and very comfortable. The food standard for breakfast and dinner (formal dining) was as good as ever. All staff deserve praise as they cannot do enough for you. They are polite, friendly and very helpful at all times. The leisure facilities i.e. pool, hot tub and sauna are an additional asset. The grounds down to the foreshore are well maintained and its lovely to be able to sit by the Helford River for the peace and quiet it affords. We highly recommend this hotel.
A relaxing stay in a beautiful hotel
Gluten free options - fantastic!
Excellent Stay
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, so much so we stayed an extra two nights. The staff were very friendly and helpful, the hotel was clean and the food was excellent. The facilities were also excellent. We will definitely return next time we visit Cornwall.

Can't fault the place
I cannot fault either the hotel or the meals. All of the staff were super helpful. Room clean and tidy and hand sanitisers were dotted all over the place. Good shower lots of pressure and hot water. Evening meals were superb and served by excellent friendly staff. The full English breakfast - was the best. I have never been in a hot tub before but will certainly be looking for hotels that offer this in future. I simply cannot fault the place.

Lovely relaxing and peaceful spa day
Visited for a spa day package with my husband for our anniversary. We live locally and frequent the Budock Vean Hotel quite often. The small changes the hotel have made to the spa day offering make such a huge difference to the experience. The new tea and coffee machine with card cups that you can drink by the pool, the spa lunch menu, the included alcoholic drink, the new outdoor hot tub etc.. we had a fabulous day. The spa staff were lovely and the waiter in the restaurant was brilliant with us. We might return for another one before Christmas. Thank you!

Ultimate relaxing weekend
This is my go-to luxury hotel. Old school service in the best sense. Wonderful food, good service, super pool & facilities. The location is wonderful sitting on the Helford river. I found that most of the people I spoke to were return customers I can't wait to go back again.

Cornish heaven
I used to go to this hotel a couple of times a year back in 2002 - 2015 and loved it then. I'm newly engaged and actually now live in Cornwall and I kept saying to my fiance how I used to love this hotel. So we went there this weekend. Omg! It was beautiful before but now almost 8 years later its been beautifully modernised, the Entrance hall is stunning, and even better was the fact I recognised faces! It's always a good sign when a hotel keeps staff. An amazing welcome and when they realised I had stayed before they upgraded our room! We felt so spoilt. We came down to dinner at 7pm and sat outside and admired the beautiful patio and gardens, sat in the Cornish sunshine. I was so excited about dinner, it was always outstanding and they didn't disappoint. My fiancé can be a tad fussy! But they didn't mind swapping a couple of items on the particular dish he fancied, it was no trouble. Our room was exquisite, very fresh and bright. I loved the separate bathroom and lavatory. All beautifully tiled and very clean. The complimentary Elemis toiletries were to die for. We love you Budock Vean can't wait to come back. I can't recommend you enough.
A hidden gem of a hotel
Genteel luxury and a fabulous retreat
My husband had a lovely round of golf, I enjoyed the large swimming pool and jacuzzi. We had a fabulous meal in the restaurant and had a suite of rooms. This is our fourth stay and we will come again. We met a charming German couple who have been coming here for years...it seems those in the know come back time and time again. It is becoming my go-to place to be for a relaxing weekend away.
Sink back and let it happen!
Delightful surroundings - service - food - and service. Go and recharge your batteries - you won't regret it.
Wonderful Stay
Amazing hotel in a perfect location!
This is our third stay at Budock Vean in under a year, and each time we’ve had an amazing stay.
The hotel is in a gorgeous location by the Helford estuary, within walking distance of Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens, and some stunning coast path walks. The hotel and grounds are immaculately kept, rooms are modern and clean, and the gardens are like a mini version of Trebah and lead down to a private beach. Hotel staff are very friendly and helpful, and the food is amazing; breakfast is delicious and the crab sandwiches are the best I’ve ever tasted!
We’ve booked again for September and can’t wait!

A fantastic 5 night stay here at this beautiful hotel
A lovely hotel in a great location for visiting nearby gardens and coastal path. A beautiful setting on a golf course with access to the Helford Passage and a pub and beach and ferry boat across river at the bottom of grounds. Food is fantastic at the hotel restaurant, a great breakfast, the evening meal is 4 courses of amazing food with coffee, fudge and chocolate to finish and a very good value price as a guest. We were upgraded on arrival was lovely after a 6 hour slow drive to get there. The staff are all very friendly and helpful. We swam in the pool used the sauna and hot tub at 7am ready for breakfast. The coastal path walks are beautiful.

Seventh Heaven on the Helford River
Another excellent stay fully meeting our high expectations. Room 2 spacious and well appointed, with superb views from the window and a modern bathroom. Very helpful and efficient staff make our stay a very happy one and the food was wonderful. Fantastic fresh fish with delightful sauces beautifully presented. Tempting and gorgeous desserts all served with aplomb.
We were indeed lucky with the weather and with gardens sweeping down to the Helford where the hotel boat the Hannah Molly took us out for a trip on the river. Seventh Heaven. Well done to all the staff you work hard and it is appreciated. The gardens were probably looking the best we've ever seen them and we look forward to our next visit soon.

Utterly charming
We were walking the coast path and were worried this place may be stuffy or unfriendly. In fact we were met by a hugely friendly staff team and a high quality yet unpretentious experience. Fabulous food at both dinner and breakfast, a beautiful setting, relaxing pool experiences and very comfortable bedding. The history of the place was fascinating and we found ourselves cheering on this hotel by the end of our stay. Long may such service and attention to detail continue.

Awesome break
We originally booked this wonderful hotel for my wife’s milestone birthday but then covid and various lockdowns came along and it never happened!! With 3 bank holidays in May we now had the perfect opportunity to stay so that’s what we did!!
I booked direct with the hotel and got a very good deal and was helped by very friendly and knowledgeable staff!! The hotel is situated in a lovely area of Cornwall and was easy to find and as we live in the county didn’t take too long to get there!!
Checking in was easy and we were upgraded which was a lovely surprise and again very friendly staff!! Everything about our stay was excellent and I wouldn’t change a thing even the weather cooperated!! We timed our stay to coincide with the bluebell festival at Enys Gardens and what a fantastic experience that was!! We will definitely come back and stay again and a big thank you to everyone who helped make our stay such an enjoyable one!!

Superb Spa Hotel Bordering the Helford River
Set in a 65 acre estate bordering the Helford River with its own golf course and lovely woodland walks, Budock Vean is a very fine spa hotel. It is well worthy of the many awards it has won, not least The Cornwall Tourism Large Hotel of the Year Gold Award 2022/2023. Beautiful surroundings, a warm welcome from helpful staff, comfortable and well appointed rooms, many with fine views, excellent food and a relaxed and friendly atmosphere - these are some of the things which have made us regular visitors over the past 15 years.
Nearby are the beautiful Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens (National Trust), and for those who want a more active holiday, in addition to golf, there are tennis, swimming, kayaking and boat trips on the river. Within easy reach is Falmouth with its many places of interest, including some excellent beaches.

Stunning Hotel and Stay
We have stayed at the hotel before and we felt that we had to return, the hotel is beautifully situated in a very quiet and picturesque location, with a golf course on the doorstep, spa and pool which we made great use of, the rooms are very comfortable, clean and roomy, the food in the restaurant is excellent, we have stayed in many many hotels around the world and we have to agree this is one of the nicest among them, very comfortable, friendly staff. We shall definitely return and recommend to all our family and friends.

Bridge and Golf Break
This hotel is outstanding. The rooms are clean, comfortable and have all amenities. It was nice to have bathrobes, slippers and towels provided for the swimming pool (also excellent.)
The service was impeccable. Nothing was too much trouble. It was the fine attention to detail (champagne glasses ice cold as they should be) that made all the difference.
And the piece de resistance - the food. Beautifully prepared and cooked to perfection. An absolute delight every breakfast and evening meal.
The golf course, though small, presented a good challenge. Trolleys were very reasonable to hire. Unfortunately didn’t have time to use the tennis courts.
Lovely walk down to the river at Helford. Falmouth and Truro not far away.
I can’t recommend it enough.

Absolutely relaxing and enjoyable stay with excellent 5* food
A very warm welcome on arriving at Budock Vean Hotel and assistance as necessary. My Signature Room was inviting, warm and cosy overlooking the Golf Course and gardens down towards Helford River. All the staff were really friendly, supportive and caring towards me (I'm disabled). I loved the garden visit and down to the river Helford, sitting for a while to enjoy the scenery. The swimming pool was a delight plus the sauna. The hotel was busy but that air of calm, relaxing atmosphere which gave a sense of quietness which I loved.
The food, breakfast, evening meal was divine - I enjoyed it all and to me it was not 4 stars but 5 stars. No faults and I loved the Lemon sole - was truly wonderful.

Perfect for a Relaxing Break
Budock Vean is a well appointed hotel, but the icing on the cake is the friendly, helpful and professional staff and the quality of the food - it is expertly cooked and the quality of the ingredients is amazing!
We stayed in a Signature room. It was beautifully clean and the bed was very comfortable.
There is lots to do round about including boat trips and kayaking on the Helford River - we’ve done the former in the past, but the latter is bit beyond us! It is a relatively gentle stroll through the hotel grounds (which are beautifully maintained by the way) to the river, and there are other walks in the area. Glendurgan (NT) and Trebah Garden are nearby, and it is a short drive to Falmouth.

Husband's Birthday Lunch
Went for lunch to celebrate my husband's birthday, setting is amazing, food excellent oysters, Cheese Soufflé, Crab Salad and the most refreshing Crème Brûlée washed down with a glass of Pinot and my husband had a couple of Peroni’s (it was his birthday).
Staff are friendly, helpful and attentive to all your needs. We were looked after by Attila, who greeted us with a smile each time he approached our table, very knowledgeable about the menu and advised us on the time the Soufflé would take and he was spot on.
Wonderful place to relax, unwind and get lost in the surroundings.

Relaxing short break
Just returned from a short stay with friends at this lovely hotel. We were upgraded on arrival to Signature rooms overlooking the golf course, which were very spacious and comfortable. It is in a beautiful setting with the gardens going down to a small beach on the estuary from where we went on an amazing kayaking tour of the Helford estuary. The hotel, grounds and golf course are very well kept and it is within easy walking distance of Trebah and Glendurgan Gardens, both well worth a visit. But the highlight of our stay had to be the staff - in the bar, restaurant, spa and room cleaning - everyone without exception was friendly and provided a first rate service. We are looking forward to our next visit in November with some more friends - it will be colder outside (not in the high 20s as it was this time) but hopefully the warmth will come from inside this very friendly place.

Another fantastic short break
We have been visiting Budock vean for a number of years and always had a great time (from Christmas parties to gourmet weekends). Our recent 3 night stay was a joy. Welcoming staff gorgeous rooms (we stayed in 2 ) both were comfortable and room 6 was amazing!! Both breakfast and dinner were delicious with wide choices and the covid restrictions were executed well by the friendly staff. Swimming pool and hot tub booking well organised and we always enjoy exploring the grounds and great walks from the hotel. Budock vean is a real oasis especially in these times where you can relax and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. A wonderful stay and we will be back!!!

Another fantastic stay at the Budock Vean
Returned yet again to the Budock Vean Hotel and as with every other time we have had a great holiday. Where to start, a longed for break has yet again totally lived up to our expectations. The hotel is one of our favourite places in the world. Beautiful walks, gardens and a relaxed atmosphere every time. The food is just perfect and the whole Budock team go above and beyond to ensure guests enjoy their stay. Over the years we have had amazing breaks of up to a week, in all seasons, and each has been perfect. During these difficult times Martin and his team have considered the safety of guests and we have felt safe. Thank you to one and all. We cannot wait to return

Cornish Staycation
Returned home today after a one night stay at the Budock Vean. Two girlfriends and I wanted a night away locally (we all live in West Cornwall) and chose the Budock Vean. Following a great day at nearby Trebah gardens we checked in to the Hotel. ALL the staff during our stay from Reception check in/out, bar/waiting staff and room change over staff were friendly, polite and so efficient. We were also very impressed with the Covid precautions, sanitiser is everywhere and spare masks/gloves available in rooms. Food was good, cocktails delightful! Don't hesitate to book this Hotel, we will be back. Thank you.

An absolute gem
Had the most wonderful stay, the hotel location is fabulous, the rooms and the bed were so comfy, the grounds are beautiful, the food is absolutely gorgeous and the staff cannot do enough for you, have waited a long time to visit as originally booked a year ago and had to move the date 3 times which was never a problem, we will definitely be back!

3 night stay
We have stayed before, but obviously this was the first time with latest CV19 protocols in place. All well managed, and service as good as ever. Lots of happy staff. Hotel was busy, and several large multi- generation family groups.

Luxury stay on Helford River
The hotel is beautifully located in gardens running down to the Helford River. Our room was spotless and well furnished overlooking the golf course. The staff attention was first class although at times perhaps a little formal for our personal taste. The quality of food in the restaurant is top class and service very prompt. The COVID protections were the best we have ever seen.

Outstanding as ever
We four sisters come every year for our Christmas mini break (this year in June!) and the Budock Vean is sublime as ever. Beautiful and immaculate, friendly and delicious. COVID protocols are reassuring not overbearing. We’ve tried all sorts of places but nothing is like this and it never disappoints. Huge thanks to Martin and your wonderful team. Already booked for next January.
